The GFS Annual Juried Craft Show was first held in 1985 as a relatively small, parent sponsored fund raiser to support the General Scholarship Fund and the Community Scholars Program. Twenty-four years later, in 2008, the Craft Show passed the million-dollar mark in revenue and has donated over $700,000 toward student scholarships. Additionally, the Show has funded numerous facility improvements and special projects at GFS, including the purchase of a grand piano for the Loeb Center, kindergarten playground equipment, photo lab equipment, and landscaping for the new Common. In 2010, the Craft Show donated $16,000 to both the Community Scholars Program and the general scholarship fund, with an additional $15,000 going towards a Lower School facilities improvement project. As we prepare fo our 28th year we reaffirm our mission with its emphasis on engaging the entire GFS community in our weekend-long celebration of the arts.
